About Us:

Set just two miles from San Francisco's San Pablo Bay, Acacia Vineyard is in the heart of Napa Valley's Carneros wine region, with stellar views of vineyards and the bay. This premium winegrowing region enjoys the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean and summer fog, making it an ideal growing area for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Acacia was a pioneer in this appellation when it began in 1979. Today, it is a leader of the new Carneros, producing compelling Pinot Noir that is darker, richer and more fragrant then the typical Carneros Pinot Noir

History:

acaciawines_sm.jpg (20617 bytes)When it was founded in 1979, Acacia was the first California winery to establish a reputation for vineyard-designated Pinot Noir based on purchasing grapes. Starting in 1996, Acacia began acquiring sites surrounding the winery, eventually assembling a gorgeous estate vineyard. Today, from its 150-acre estate vineyard, as well as from other Carneros single vineyards, Acacia Vineyard produces richly-styled Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

It continues to honor the principle that the only true reserves are those that undeniably express a distinctive vineyard. Acacia produces single vineyard Pinot Noirs from St. Clair Vineyard, which has produced single vineyard wines since 1979, and from newer additions such as Beckstoffer and our own Estate Vineyard, which we call "Field Blend."

Acacia has been devoted to producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Carneros region since it began in 1979. Contrary to conventional thinking, we match gentle-growing viticulture with hard-handling winemaking to produce rich and fragrant wines.

Pinot Noir
A leader of the new Carneros, Acacia produces compelling Pinot Noir that is darker, richer and more fragrant than is typically associated with this cool appellation.

We achieve this depth of flavor in our Carneros Pinot Noir by blending our estate-grown grapes with wines made from the vineyards that produce our Single Vineyard Selection series. Controlling every aspect of viticulture is critical to quality and is reflected by our "estate bottled" designation.

Chardonnay
For our Carneros Chardonnay, Acacia has established long-term contracts with a dozen farmers whose expertise lays in growing quality Chardonnay grapes. From the head-trained vines of Madonna Vineyard on Duhig Road to the California sprawl on Sangiacomo's ranch on the Sonoma side of Carneros, the different soils, clones and trellis systems contribute to the diversity of flavors we see within our cellar. We believe this diversity ultimately translates to complexity in the wine in bottle.

Single Vineyard Selection
To showcase the flavors from distinctive vineyards in Carneros, Acacia offers a selection of single vineyard Pinot Noirs and the Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay.
