(Kutztown, PA) Best Sparkling Wine and a Gold Medal was awarded to Pinnacle Ridge Winery’s CUVEE CHARDONNAY at the 2008 PA Farm Show. Produced ‘methode champenoise’ this bubbly’s effervescence and liveliness, caught the judges’ attention at this year’s show. ‘Methode champenoise’ is the traditional French method for making the sparkling wines, otherwise commonly referred to as Champagnes.
Pinnacle Ridge Winery took home six medals in total at this year’s show. Two additional Gold Medals were awarded for the winery’s popular 2006 CAYUGA WHITE and the winery’s signature red, the 2005 CHAMBOURCIN RESERVE. A Silver Medal favored the splendid premium blend crafted by winemaker Brad Knapp, the 2005 VERITAS, as did the beloved 2005 BLANC DE BLANC sparkling wine which is also produced ‘methode champenoise.’ A Bronze Medal is brandished by the winery’s sultry 2006 Pinot Noir.
